Weekly Update Sept 1-16

Now we are in the swing of things!  First full week of classes.  On Thursday September 15th, the Gold Team will be going to the Telus Sparks Centre so Foods class will be cancelled.

ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE AN APRON FOR ALL COOKING LABS.  IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN APRON, YOU WILL LOSE DILIGENCE MARKS.

Students must successfully complete their module before they are allowed to cook.  Work that is incomplete or forgotten does not allow one into the kitchen.  Students are expected to follow course outlines.  Classes continue if you do not finish your work.  A section of the class will be vacant for students to finish their assignments. Once assignments are complete, students may cook in their groups.  Any cooking labs that are missed due to incomplete assignments, may not be completed as a home lab.  Home labs are only for students who have completed their work, but were absent on the lab day due to personal reasons.  For each module, a student may only complete 3 homelabs as evaluations take place while they are cooking in the class.

Monday September 12: Module work, safety exam

Tuesday September 13: Measurement/equipment/cooking terminology module

Wednesday September 14: A.M Modules are due and cooking demo   P.M. Module work, mini cooking demo, rice krispie squares

Thursday September 15: A.M Lab: Biscuits.  Those who have incomplete assignments are not allowed to cook.  PM: Modules due.

Friday September 16: Measurement quiz.  Rice Krispie squares (AM) Cookie Dough Dip (PM)
