Welcome to the home page of Mrs. Fossheim

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2023/24 school year! My name is Mrs. Adrienne Fossheim, and I am very much looking forward to being your teacher this year.

I believe in empowering students, helping them shine as individuals, and preparing them for life beyond school. I am very passionate about the importance of Fine Arts, and lifelong learning in Education. This year I will be teaching Drama 9, Drama 10, Drama 20/30, Advanced Acting and Touring and Performing Arts. All of my course content and assessments can be found on Google Classrooms. In my Drama classes I cultivate a positive classroom environment where you will have fun and explore a variety of dramatic skills, we have so much fun! In my Advanced Acting and Touring Classes we build on those skills and create One Act Plays to compete with in festivals with other high schools in our zone. In Performing Arts this year, we work in tandem with our Tech Theatre program to create and perform a large-scale musical. This year we are doing Willy Wonka – Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in March. Rehearsals are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, we would love you to join us!

In my classes, you are part of a group, and will feel a sense of belonging. I cultivate a positive classroom environment of acceptance and ensemble. I believe in collaboration, and in turn creating a learning community, as the best practice to instill lifelong love of skill and learning. I enjoy teaching and am so excited to be your teacher. I am looking forward to collaboration with the Cochrane community, educators, students and parents to make this a fantastic school year.

When I am not at work, you can find me in the mountains! I love skiing (XC and Downhill) hiking, kayaking/SUP boarding, and camping. I also love spending time with my family, my husband and my two daugthers ages 7 and 10. You can also find me in the arts community enjoying live theatre and creating.

This year to further my personal growth and development, I will be working part-time to pursue my Masters Degree in Education. I am so looking forward to bringing my new learnings into the classroom. First Semester I will be working mornings, and am available before school until lunch. Second Semester I will be working afternoons, and am available from lunchtime until after school. I am always available by email, and will do my best to ensure a prompt response.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Adrienne Fossheim
